Job Function
- Operations
- To provide technical and operational support on production engineering, drilling and completion matters for the maximisation of the economic recovery of Addax’s oil and gas reserves from both mature and new oil and gas fields in his assigned area.
- To monitor and evaluate well, reservoir, field and production facilities performance in his assigned area and recommend ways of optimising them. This will require utilisation and continuous update of the relevant IPM (Integrated Production system Model).
- To initiate, participate, monitor and evaluate the design and construction of wells.
- To be actively engaged in problem identification and solving in connection with the total production process.
- To understand all the relevant aspects of production facilities and flowlines for his assigned fields.
- To maintain a company Data Management System, together with APDNL.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required
- Degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- 5-10 Years experience in Petroleum/Drilling/Production Engineering, preferably with an Operating oil or gas company, of which preferably a few years as Production Technologist (or Production Engineer).
- Possessing a reasonable working knowledge of well completion design, drilling operations, well intervention activities and production facilities.
- Understanding of fluid properties and dynamics, risk and uncertainty analysis and management.
- Fully conversant in the use of PC based PT software (well inflow, vertical and horizontal flow simulation, tubing stress analysis, OFM, etc.). Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc,
Additional Attributes
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Good communication skills in English – both written and verbal
- Willingness to travel for short (up to 3 months) and long term (3-4 years) assignments with Addax Petroleum Operating Companies.
- Clear and effective decision making is required and rapid response a necessity to many operational, production and drilling issues that arise.
- Familiar with PC based software like pressure build up analysis (e.g. PAN system), various well flow simulation packages (e.g. PROSPER, PIPESIM, HOSIM), MS Project, etc.
It would be advantageous to have the following additional experience and skills
- Operational experience in West Africa and/or Middle East, preferably with an Operating company.
- Operational experience as wellsite PE, preferably with an Operating company.
- Operational experience as well/drilling engineer, as production engineer or as facilities engineer.
