Job Function
- Operations
- Identify the need for, and propose the acquisition, (re-)processing of 2D and 3D seismic data.
- Control the quality and management of 2D and 3D seismic and site survey data acquisition, processing and re-processing.
- Prepare ITT documentation for site survey and seismic acquisition and processing, evaluate bids and prepare contracts.
- Studies
- Carry out 2D and detailed 3D seismic interpretation, interpretive PSDM seismic processing projects, time-depth conversion, prospect appraisals and risked volumetrics, acoustic lithology, DHIs and AVO modelling to identify by-passed hydrocarbons,
- Provide seismic support to New Ventures, exploration and acreage evaluation, as required.
- Prepare timely technical proposal for drilling undeveloped discoveries and exploration prospects.
- Contribute to detailed reservoirs and field reviews, field development plans, as required.
- Others
- Mentor Jr. Seismologists from Asset and Operating companies or Government, represent the interests of the Asset in discussions with Third Parties.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required
- BSc or higher in Geophysics.
- At least 15 years experience in applied seismic interpretation (including structural and stratigraphic traps, seismic attributes, velocity model building for PSDM), risk and uncertainty analysis and volumetric estimates, acreage evaluation, preferably with an Operating oil company.
- Hands on experience with detailed seismic interpretation for development of oil and gas fields, involvement with horizontal drilling programmes, real time interpretation incorporating well control, technical leadership role in defining the static model for STOOIP calculations, development well planning linked to the seismic interpretation, rigorous documentation for reserve certification
- Subsalt experience (GOM, Gabon North Sea, etc) and field development from a geophysical perspective.
Additional Attributes
- Ability to work well in a team and provide some technical leadership.
It would be advantageous to have the following additional experience and skills
- Operational experience in West Africa and Middle-East, preferably with an Operating oil company.
- Operational experience in PSDM projects preferably sub salt and with an Operating oil company.
- Basic skills in the use petrophysical data and velocity data from seismic.
