Job Function
- Operations
- Maintain awareness of other operator activity in Gabon.
- Advise before and while drilling on logging, casing, coring points, perforations and TD.
- Maintain daily updates of well and mud log correlations, x-sections, maps and well trajectories.
- Liaise with contractors for geophysical work.
- Studies
- Construct local and regional geological maps and cross sections to identify exploration prospects.
- Build local and regional geological models to support exploration programme.
- Further existing play trends and identify new play trends.
- Participate in determining prospect geological parameters and risk.
- Prepare well proposals and recommend logging, coring, and welltest programs.
- Provide geological support to New Ventures and development, as required.

- Represent Addax in meetings with joint venture partners, Government bodies, and Third Parties.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required
- BSc or higher in Geology.
- Ability to generate and/or evaluate exploration prospects.
- At least 8 years experience in exploration or development geology, preferably with an operating company.
- At least 3 years exploration experience, preferably in West Africa.
- Understanding of risk and uncertainty analysis, volumetric estimates, and economic assessments.
- Comfortable performing some geophysical work (e.g. interpreting seismic).
- Comfortable performing some petrophysical work.
- Willingness to load digital data when necessary.
- Fully conversant in the use of G&G databases and geological interpretation PC-based software
- (e.g. SMT, Petrosys, and Petrel).
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Good communication skills in English – both written and verbal.

- Successful exploration experience in West Africa, especially Gabon.
- Basic skills in 3D seismic and petrophysical interpretation.
