- The Geneva office is organised along a matrix structure where the different corporate discipline functions provide services and manpower to the asset teams. The asset team has a Geneva based part and an in-host country part. Each part has its own team leader reporting to the in-host country based asset manager. The main objective for the Geneva based part of the asset team is to develop the reservoir to its full extent, while the in host country part of the asset team is focussed on the daily production, maintaining and operation of the asset.
- The position
- The Facilities / Process Engineer will take a leading role in the definition and sizing of surface facilities for handling and treatment of oil, gas and produced water. The staff in the Facilities group provides operational support, project execution, engineering consultancy and technology development services.
- Objective of the job
- To assist the Asset Team Leader on all process related design, engineering, planning and trouble shooting activities for all facilities, new and old.
- Main duties and responsibilities
- HSE Records
- Ensure that all project activities in the field are executed safely and responsibly according to good oilfield practices and local legislation, without any personal injuries or threats to the health of individuals;
- Ensure that all HSE procedures are adhered to, specified in contracts and updated/improved where necessary;
- Staff Performance
- Mentoring of less experienced personnel.
- Business Integrity
- Play a key role as the liaison between Petroleum Engineering, Production Operations, Well Engineering and Field Engineering for surface facilities development including pipelines.
- Ensure that the necessary Process Engineering input is delivered to change projects and operational plans.
- Ensure that all activities in the field are executed in adherence to the Company’s operational and safety policies and propose improvements where deemed necessary.
- Profitability
- Carries out special projects as assigned, such as production optimisation studies. This may include well productivity enhancement methods, facilities designs with recommendations for standardisation of equipment and process modelling.
- Responsible for design, analysis and optimisation of the performance of all oil/gas gathering, separation and processing facilities.
- Investment Projects
- Maintain a system which directly highlights Capital and Operating Expenditure;
- External Relationships
- Ensure that good communication is maintained within the field, the Geneva organisation and with contractors

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required
Facilities / Process engineer with an academic degree in either Chemical Technology, Oil & Gas Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with associated professional qualifications and 10+ years of relevant experience preferably with an oil and gas company operating in West Africa, with following skills:
- Process simulation (familiarity with simulation tools, e.g. Hysys, Pipesim, C7+ characterisation).
- Design of appropriate systems to meet throughput specifications.
- Sizing of process system components.
- Development of control and safeguarding philosophies and specifications.
- Optimisation of plant performance.
- Experience with onshore and offshore processing plants.
- Experience in both oil and gas processing.
- Experience in waste handling e.g. produced water.
- Experience in preparation of design documents e.g. Basis for Design, Equipment data sheets, Process selection reports, Design philosophies.
- Experience with engineering contractors.
- Operate in an environment demanding considerable customer focus.
- Self-motivated, results oriented with conceptual and flexible mindset.
- Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
