Alert on Fictitious Job Offers

It has been brought to our attention that fraudulent email messages are being sent by individuals purporting to be the CEO or CFO of Addax Petroleum Corporation, and offering employment as a “representative in the United States” to process payments.  The victim is asked to deposit funds in their account, deduct a percentage as a fee, and then forward the balance via wire transfer.  This is not a legitimate Addax Petroleum Corporation job offer, and is in fact an advance fee fraud.

Additionally, fraudulent messages are being sent by individuals claiming they are under contract with Addax Petroleum or a subsidiary to locate prospective employees for work on projects, and require payment in order to be considered for recruitment within the so called "Addax & Oryx Petroleum Group". These offers, usually sent via email, typically advise the victims they have been hired by the company or that they may obtain employment with the company. For a fee, the individuals ensure they will process the victim's employment papers, tender offers, job applications and work permits. Victims are usually requested to send their fees, via a personal check or a money order, to a post office box. In some instances, victims are promised or receive checks to cover relocation expenses. Such promises and/or checks are not made or generated by Addax Petroleum Corporation or in any way associated with the Company. These are not legitimate Addax Petroleum Corporation job offers. Addax Petroleum Corporation never requires any candidate to contribute or pay any expenses or fees towards potential employment within the company.

Addax Petroleum Corporation, as well as any of its affiliate, disclaims all responsibility with respect to any expense, loss, and/or damage of any kind, which might have occurred in connection with any e-job application and/or recruitment procedure.
