The Sinopec-Addax Petroleum Foundation joins the opening ceremony of CLAC

Published on 30 March 2012

On March 29, 2012, the Sinopec-Addax Petroleum Foundation participated in the inauguration of the Centre de Lecture et d'Animation Culturelle (CLAC) in Yaoundé.

This project was launched by one of the Foundation’s partners, the French NGO Bibliothèques Sans Frontières, (BSF). The first contact between the Foundation and BSF was established pursuant to a book collection by the Addax Petroleum employees to the benefit of the NGO. Further contacts led to discussions about supporting the CLAC in Yaoundé. In 2011, the Foundation embarked with great enthusiasm into this partnership to support the expansion and development of the cultural centre over the next two years. This centre represents a fundamental part of academic life and a source of education and enjoyment for people of all ages.

By supporting BSF and the CLAC project, the Sinopec-Addax Petroleum Foundation wishes to enable children, youths and adults to benefit from a valuable cultural centre, regardless of their means or social origins.
