Addax Petroleum is supporting 13 volunteer employees of its Geneva-based office to ride the Cyclotour du Léman race on May 27, 2012 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The 13 participants will cycle to raise funds for the SOL-Ghana orphanage, an NGO supported by the Sinopec-Addax Petroleum Foundation (“the Foundation”). This event reflects Addax Petroleum’s values of performance, team spirit and social commitment, which transcend cultural and language barriers. In this context, Addax Petroleum’s sponsorship aims at reinforcing its corporate culture by encouraging employee volunteering and participation in sporting events.
The Foundation’s mission also aims to support Addax Petroleum employees volunteering in charity. Therefore, to encourage other employees to join the event by sponsoring their colleagues who are cycling, it will match all donations made. The Foundation is committed to sustainable community development. It primarily seeks to empower poverty-stricken communities by reinforcing their capacities and helping them reach self-sufficiency. The Foundation focuses primarily on Africa and the Middle East, beyond Addax Petroleum’s countries of operations, and thereby complements the social investment undertaken by the Company’s subsidiaries.
